What did you think of Halo 3?

Alright, it's been a while now, and many have had time to give it a good run. So now, I want to know what you guys thought of it.

Did it exceed your expectations?
Was it exactly what you wanted?
Were you disappointed with something?
Was it just horrible?

Multiplayer menu i don't like at all though.

what i expected, though those battles against the scarabs had me going "holy ****!" and totally exceeding my expectations in terms of amount of NPC's playing on a single field. crazy.

I just think it was halo 3. I have nothing else to say since I don't have an xbox, but it was fun I guess.

the campaign was a little disappointing but i'm still having a blast with the multiplayer

I thought the battles would be bigger, but it still exceeded my expectations. Playing the multiplayer online is so fun.

I like being able to have mutliplayer online campaign. Makes it alot easier on legendary.

I was expecting a lot out of the single player. I thought the ending was good but I really loved the ad campaign that went with halo and was disappointed to find the game completely different. The multiplayer is spot on though.

i dont have the game but i have played it multiplayer before, and it got surprisingly boring, but i guess thats because i was preocupied with trying out all the new guns and vehicles as opposed to killing my opponents.

much to hyped for my tastes personally(and disappointing), the melee system is flawed as everyone claims. but i find getting melee'd to be somewhat "rare"

i dislike changes from halo 2 to halo 3. such as the odd ball melee is too strong. the banshees ability to point low kind of sucks but the fuel rod makes up for it.

the levels arent the best, but suitable. and sandtrap was much to small for my liking.


as for the campaign, too short. not enough epic struggle. i however, did LOVE the new "maw" run. what a good throw back.

MM also has issues i do not like, lack of some weapons(fuel rod) and the AR, a slight touch strong.

yes, but i dont like the fact that bungie felt their was no need for it be to fixed originally. im not sure if you saw it but, they answered questions like

why do i die from a melee go half way across the level or 80 feet in the air.

answer: "because"

rather upsetting, i seriously have never felt more let down by bungie, they generally are very casual and down to earth but this seemed unacceptable


the ranking system leaves something to be desired or so it seems, my friends like a lvl 48. but for halo2, me and him are nearly the same, and i feel that is a bit over inflated and other people seem to think the challenge of getting a 50 is much to easy.
personally i dislike the ranking system and the quitter penalty. i actually like playing social games on halo 3, much like halo 2. ive always loved the big battles, so i play big team battle(when they added BTB slayer). and i play it on both games, having fun and being competitive are 2 very different things for me, i actually have to goto a friends house to play, and when i play its not always fun to play competitively. and losing exp for quitting a social game(happens right?) i dislike that, some times i just would not want to play things.


i do like the veto system and forge, except forge is childish to me. im used to trying to edit things in like... MS paint/photoshop with grab handles and rotation angles, and not being able to see things kind of annoys me.


the heroic map pack kind of upset me, but stand off seemed to be an impressive map. rats next or w/e and foundry seemed okay, i like foundry better without forging it. its hiding spots the large open ended box/crates or whatever added a nice element to the game that so far seems to feel very "open range". this is a map i could see melees being throw alot on... really i cant think of a map like this. i was going to say warlock but even thats a bit open compared to some of the areas of foundry(or at least the 1 i played in MM) and its customization for games like griffball impress me.



and the campaign mode really was thrilling when the flood first came. i loved it so "end of the world" gloom and doom feeling. but it was short and didnt really answer questions i wanted to know. ive always been wondering what happened to fred kelly and linda. why were the rest of the spartan 3's that left onyx in this game? remember the commercials with MC being held up by a brute and holding a grenade and saying "believe" i wanted to watch that... and we got some info on the 4runners, but i wanted to see one. or something, they can build bridges of light but cant leave a picture behind? oh well... im looking forward to the next book thats yet to be released.

I loved it. Yes im a fanboy, half of it is cause its a great story line.

on a side note, has anyone noticed how the new "in" thing to do is say how much it sucked(not necessarily on here)
Like alternative used to be different, now its the norm, casue everyone thinks there cool for doing it.
Or like owning a mac is like totally the coolest and best, because everyone uses windows, and im a non conformist.

But really i loved it. I love the books(cept the flood) hell i liked all the hype videos they did.

Halo 3 had a GREAT campaign mode, but only the first time through.

The multiplayer, in my opinion, is horrible because of the bad maps. All in all, I don't like the game very much anymore because there isn't any fun in the online like their used to be...

Though it also could be because I was diagnosed with depression from some test...

Better then I expected but not super fantastic. Still can't believe I almost bought the Legendary Edition. Haven't played this game in so long though.

It was ok. I didn't expect much from it. I did play matchmaking and campaign a lot. I also got all of the achievements. That's when I got bored of it.
