2008 - best year for video games, ever?

Is anyone else unbearably excited for 2008? Actually, I'm going to say the 2008 gaming year started for me when Bioshock was released. A whole butt load of Final Fantasy games, Assassin's Creed, Warhammer Online, Crysis, Mass Effect, Fable 2, Devil May Cry 6 billion, Starcraft 2, Spore, MGS4, Little Big Planet, Mario Galaxy, Mario & Sonic @ the Olympics, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, prolly a Mario Party 47 in there, Guitar Hero 3, Rachet & Clank 87.4. I'm orgasming right now. I don't even know if all of those games are 2008 releases, but that's the first bunch that stuck in my head.

yeah 08 is gonna be rly good, but 07 was also really good too IMO...well the end of 07 at least

Soul Calibur 4, Tekken 6, Devil May Cry 4, GTA 4, Mortal Kombat 8 (hopefully), UT3. Yea, it's going to be a good year.

Every year seems to get stated as best year for videogaming before that years comes and than when it does come it is either surpassed by the next year or not as great as it seemed to be.

2007 isn't even over yet and we still have Crysis, Hellgate, Unreal Tournament 3, Mass Effect and some others just to name a few.

Oh, plus Assassin's Creed comes out in November 2007...this year but since you are proposing that 2008 started with Bioshock I will go along and say this will be a good year that may be a sign of some good coming on down the road or a good year before a bad year. Either way, good games come and along with them comes a s-load of bad ones.

So, I am bit jaded on this subject.

After all, some of those games could get pushed back and some could out as flops...like Gothic 3.

One game I can't wait for is Rock Band. I'm a big GH player, but RB looks so amazing, I won't have money for GH3 after RB is released though.

Me = Hardcore PC Gamer

Well I have played the Demos for Timeshift, Call of Duty 4, Jericho and Unreal Tournament 3 (UT 2 sucked so hard they aren't counting it...heh heh).

All four were very fun FPS games and will probably be getting all four along with Crysis when they are released. Good times with FPS games...should be enough to quench my hunger for games until Mass Effect.

Anybody else remember october 2004? The best gaming month ever, with Half Life 2, Halo 2, GTA SA, Killzone, MGS 3, and Metroid Prime 2 all in the same month.
