Default Delete media on Software but not on Zune. Without guest mode [updated]

Can a mod sticky this, its really important

As many of you know, the Zune software automatically sync your stuff. Even if you went into settings and click Let Me Choose for all categories, the Zune software will still DELETE music and videos on your Zune if you delete it on Zune Software. I found a great way to get around this and you do not need to connect as guest.

1.) Open up Zune Software, make sure you Zune is connected. Wait for the software to detect your Zune.

2.) go to settings, and click forget my Zune button

3.) Then connect it again, connect it as home Zune.

(basically, step 2 and 3 is make the Zune think that the media in your collection is not directly related to the stuff on your Zune. So you can delete sync groups later and it won't touch the stuff on your Zune.)

4.) Click Device -> Status, under the Zune image, there is a button called View Sync Groups. Click on it.

5.) you will be brought to a window with a lot of items. Delete them all! Basically this is the place where Zune Software say "oh, I have to match this item on the Software and the Zune." Don't worry, this won't have any affect on your media at. To delete them all fast, click on the first item, then scroll down to the last item, and Shift+click the last item to select all items. Then right click -> remove groups.

After this, your Zune Software will NOT match your Collection to your Zune Device, just like Guest Mode.

Hope you find this useful!.

Are you sure this works?
I'm pretty sure if you remove a sync group the software will delete it off your zune.

Yeah, when I went to delete all of the sync groups it said that all of the media in the selected sync groups would be deleted off of my zune at the next sync...

Looks like we're still waiting for a good fix for this

There's a much much much simpler way of doing it. I'll just make another tutorial.
