Installing games/XNA on your zune - How to install Zune Games

for non coders, to keep zune80 support in the code (assuming it uses the thumbstick analog input as what the trackpad sends, i dont have a zune80)

example:

if (gpState.IsButtonDown(Buttons.LeftThumbstickRight) )

becomes

if (gpState.IsButtonDown(Buttons.LeftThumbstickRight) || gpState.IsButtonDown(Buttons.DPadRight))

Well, I click Deploy Alien Aggressor to zune and i get like 16 error messages saying it cannot locate files or w/e. As far as the other game, i can't even open it into the software.

for some reason the alien agressor coder set it to fire continually, even though dpad + firing seems to work ok in galactic war

kind of weird.. did you follow the tutorial? :S just try redownloading the stuff.. and then extract it again.. try not to change anything.. open the .sln file and then click deploy..

great job jurai! Im glad the GW2 works now on my 30. Its great that I can move. Now all we need is a ton more games. Tons.

Also do you think its BAD to hold down buttons for so long? Like on GW2 i just hold fire and move back and forth.

nm now i realize why he did it, its pretty darn hard to press the button while using up / down instead of left/right

before

Fire(bullets);

in Alien Agressor [Zune] -> Ships -> PlayerShip.cs, if you would rather press the button to shoot

Oh! I can underestand why you must have been confused by my questions RTH, there was something messed up with the folder I was using. Something musta glitched during extraction or something, b/c when I re-extracted it looked like what you were explaining. I followed your simple steps and the new file is working fine.

Yeah, well the files I had were completely different from what you had... it's really bizzare. I'm working on getting the second game working now, is it better?

just follow the tut and everything should be fine.. but if your installing galatic war 3.. be sure to check out post #76 by Jurai..

You should change something in your tutorial. To get the x-screen thing, click start menu-> programs -> Microsoft XNA Game STUDIO ctp-> ZNA studio device center.

This way it would be trouble free and super easy to find.

meh... that step only required for adding device.. or you can just click on the .sln game file and it'll display the monitor with the x thingy..

hmm, everytime i quit a game, my zune 80 restarts .. is anybody else having this problem? .. i deleted it and deployed it back in my zune and it still restarts .. weird

Thats just what happens right now, one all Zunes. Hopefully/most likely it wont be the case in the future.

Took awhile to download and to figure out how to "deploy" but I got it done. My zune gets really warm on the back now when I play it. No problem. Nice work. This is just the tip of the ice burg so I ain't complaining
