Hey man thanks for sharing. I needed this as my collection recently ****ed up, and the software was retagging things left and right.

i downloaded the new mp3tag 2.39 and have tried editing my tags and its either not saving or not working. for example, i dragged all my rock mp3s into it and selected all of them and changed the genre on the left to say rock. then when i click the mp3 to play it still says the genre it used to be. however, when i get back into mp3tag it says the genre is rock for that mp3. whats the deal? any help on this would be great as i would like to edit all my mp3 tags for artist, album title, song title. thanks in advance

Try right clicking on the selected songs in MP3Tag and picking Extended Tags from the menu it reveals. In the box that opens, select Genre from the list on the left, then click the edit button in the middle (between the list and album art box). Change the Genre to "Rock" in th ebig edit box and then OK back to the main MP3Tag list. It should "think" for a seond and then say "Saved X out of X tags" (where X is the number of selected tracks. The tags should now be correctly changed.

Sorry for the bump but I'm having a big issue with this. I deleted the store file and redid the tags with mp3tag and now the Zune software only detects about 1/3 of my songs. When I first start it up it detects about 1500 but then it quickly switches back to just 764 songs. Any ideas?

Run the media reset tool.

It seems to have worked itself out. Heh I guess Zunetag only really works if you have the Zune software open at the same time.
