So after 20+ hours of trial and error, I finally got this metadata stuff down. Unfortunately dSharpie and zMeta didn't work for me with either WMV8 or 9. My configuration and software used is as follows:
All WMV9 encoded video Zune, 2nd Gen. 80GB Zune Software, 2.3 & Firmware, 2.3 TigoTago 2.0.0.3 beta Extending upon Khu's OCD assisting organizational system I would recommend creating 3 folders named "Movies, Music videos and TV shows" under your designated video folder. Then place your videos in their appropriate folder.Below are the steps I followed, along with some notes. Make sure only the programs stated are open or else the metadata won't be written correctly. Also, as a precaution, you should backup your videos to another folder. 1) Remove (but don't delete!) all video files from the Zune library. 2) Delete all video files from from the Zune player. Close down Zune software. 3) Open TigoTago, select the folder with the video files in it. Select a block of files then right click and hit Advanced edit. Then go to Media, PrimaryID and copy that value then paste that value into the SecondaryID. Goto the bottom left of that window and hit "Change in Selected Files" then hit OK and OK again. In the Description below, it should state it was sucessful. For good measure hit Save All at the top. (This step was essential to allow for importing of the files into Zune and starting with a clean slate, otherwise the file would of been seen as invalid type regardless of being a wmv file). To see the applied changed in TigoTago, you need to go out of the directory then back in. 4) Open Zune software. Then click and drag video files from Explorer window into the Zune software. 5) Go Back to TigoTago and now associate the files with the correct metadata. After selecting a bunch of files that will be in the same folder, right click, goto windows media class, video and specifically choose the Video_Music Video, Movie or TV Show (the others won't work). Then hit save all. 6) The files should be updated in the Zune software automatically. Then click and drag the files you want on you Zune player and sync. Check out your Zune and see if it worked! Hopefully it did. For those wanting dSharpie, google "dsharpie.rar" and some hits will come up. Lastly, for some reason, if you go back to some of the files in TigoTago and view their SecondaryClass info in Tag info or the Windows Media Class info, it will be stated different than what is on your Zune player. Don't have time to figure that one out. I am just happy that my videos are organized! ![]() ![]() |
