Nice tutorial, will try this A.S.A.P, just to see how it works and such. Looks complicated though. For now I'll use my MagicDvdRipper, its simple and easy and has a option to put it in format for your zune.

Click Change WMV profile (fourth screenshot) and edit the output settings.

Question

Also, about how long does it take to do a DVD like the length of Transformers?

Depends on your processer. On my dual 3.2, it's near real-time.

Gah! It keeps closing on me when I press OK out of the first window with the INTERPOLATE thing. My comp does suck so any suggestions?

When I click OK, it pops open a window saying "Warning the output and input frame rate are not equal. Pull down (up) will be performed"

And I say ok, it's the only choice, and then it gives me the Debug and error reporting window and closes it out. =(

I need help.

By default, the output frame rate is 29.97, which is the NTSC standard. NTSC is used by US and Japan DVDs. If you have a European DVD, it may be in PAL, which is 25 frames/sec.

My suggestion is to leave the Deinterlace setting alone and try the different frame rates in the dropdown above it until you find the one that doesn't cause the warning message.

The crash could be codec conflicts. That's hard to diagnose and usually not worth the effort.

That's what happens to me too. I select the correct file and click OK in the input screen but I just get a pop up saying:

Warning the output and input frame rate are not equal
Pull down (up) will be performed.

Then I try to scan through the video/play it and it crashes and kicks me out of the program. I uninstalled it then reinstalled it, but it didn't fix anything. I tried all of the frame rates in the input window and they all had the same result.

I downloaded the program, inserted the dvd, went to view the IFOs and absolutely nothing showed up! The folder view says 'no items match your search'. What now???

What if you're in Hell and you're mad at someone, where do you tell them to go?

I haven't seen this before. If you go to My Computer and browse to the DVD, do you see the IFO's there? "No Items Match Your Search" sounds odd to me. Is that a Vista thing?

Try unfiltering the file dialog by entering *.* in the filename field and click Open. You should see all the files in the window then. It's also possible the IFO files are flagged as hidden (I haven't seen it before though). You can go to Folder Options in Control Panel to enable display of hidden files.

Yeah, it's a Vista thing...

Ok, so *.* get's me a list of 'DVDx 1' all the way through 'DVDx 39', plus one labled 'title'. None of them list a size. And, showing all hidden files and folders did not bring them up. And browsing ('Exploring' in Vista) the DVD brings up all the Video TS's.

Could you post a screen shot? That might help me understand what you're seeing.
