Thanks for taking the time to do this. I really appreciate this since I spent practically hours and days encoding and synching and transcoding between different AVI, MP4, WMV and God know what!!! Not to mention a multitude of required codecs and programs.

Really appreciated this.

After ripping a DVD with DVD Decrypter and RipIt4Me, I converted it to a WMV with this program. The problem is that the sound is synced about five seconds off and skips every so often. Anybody having similar problems?

Maybe. Try converting using only these programs with the same DVD and see if it lags or delays.

I had it happen on one DVD, where the split in the dual-layer caused it to delay by a second or so (half in sync, half out of sync). I could not find a workaround for it.

There is a checkbox to sync audio and video, but it was no help. You might try it.

Hi... I just got my Zune today and am trying to download this and in the second step I have hit a bump in the road. Where it says to "Download the Zune Encoding Profiles from ZuneBoards," when I click on it the first page says "Invalid file ID" then I'm taken to another page with downloads, but I'm not seeing the one you said to download. Am I missing something? Sorry for the silly q. TIA

I used it before, not easy to use at all, there are so much options that make me confused.

I'm in the exact same situation as you. I've roamed around these boards for other converting solutions, but if I could just figure out the encoding profiles download I would be happy! Help, please!?

You can download the Zune encoding profiles from my website: http://www.700cb.net/downloads/ZuneEncodingProfiles.zip

There's nothing illegal about it. They are just settings files for the Windows Media Encoder (a free download from Microsoft).

Hey,

I downloaded DVDx 2.10 and extracted the Zune encoding profiles into the profiles folder, and it loads the DvD fine but when I try to change the output setting into the WMV format it gives me an error message and closes the program. The error message says: "DVDx Freeware DVD backup tool. has stopped working."

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Anachostic, thanks for taking the time to do this. Worked great for me-- excellent quality in roughly real time speed. Couldn't find the Zune specific settings until you posted the link so I took a WAG and it worked out fine. I'm guessing the file sizes will be smaller and the quality just as good using the settings you kindly provided. So thanks again for the effort.
