Acer Computers

What is everyone's opinion on Acer computers, namely their laptops? I'm looking to buy a new one, and for the money the Acer Aspire 5610 looks like a pretty good buy.

I'm just not sure how credible a company they are since they aren't that mainstream.

Im sure they are credible as their parts are well made. Check www.newegg.com for some product reviews.

iv sold plenty of them at the shop i work at we never get acers back in for repairs its the HP's Viaos and Dells with the hdd failures! and mobo failures!

I have a acer ferrari 4000 and i love it, it runs a bit hot though it's using the amd turion 64 mobile.

It’s been with me now for almost 2 years and no problems, i do a lot of designing on it and most of the time i have photoshop, illustrator, flash,IE open at the same time and it runs pretty well,1.25 GB Ram, the 5000 series looks sweet.

8/10 ratings for my notebook and brand so far.

If i were you get something mid to hight range it will save you a lot of strees later on.

yea i would suggest getting mid to high end to they tend to last longer than the chepos. i run an Inspiron E1705 (cut down XPS1710) run great performance on it its outstanding for a laptop on my concerns.

Core2duo T5200
2gig of ram - (2 gig ready boosted)
X1400 graphics
17'' widescreen
