Unhappy Potential Zune HD purchaser changing mind.

Wasn't sure where else to post this, so I chose this forum.

Basically, I have been planning on buying a Zune HD for a while now, but I'm starting to change my mind. I aim to buy a device that will be able to play music, and essentially be something I can browse the net, talk to people, and listen to music on. I originally planned to get a Zune HD for these tasks, but I am realizing that I may want to get a netbook instead. For only a small sum of money more, I can do all of these things, and much more. The Zune HD's browser I have heard is only so-so, and doesn't support flash. Also, not all media types are compatible with the Zune. I guess what I'm saying is: I am most likely going to stick with my old Zune, and instead of getting the HD, I will get something else that can do the same things, better.

tl;dr: Most likely getting a netbook instead of a Zune HD, for the reasons above.

Good idea. Only downside of netbook is that it isn't as portable.

True, but for portability I will simply use my Zune 16, which is still functioning fine.

As a netbook owner, beware that it wont last as long as you think it will, my original 4gb eee pc is barely cutting it now, it's charge cord died recently so now I am waiting for a replacement power cord

Ensure you find one with good battery life like the 1000HE.

Also, might want to consider looking at the Smartbooks alias ARM CPU powered netbooks since they will have even longer battery life.

I was going to suggest the Zii Egg.

Netbooks are portable, but you can't fit it in your pocket. so it depends on how portable you need a device to be.

But I agree that, for Wifi usage, the netbook is a much better solution. And some of the older 9 and 10 inch netbooks are dropping in price, as we wait for the Win7 / touch netbooks to be released.

^ The Zii Egg does look very nice, but it's still in development stages. I may purchase one in the future if the Zune HD is not improved in some areas.

I suppose I might as well show you all the netbook I'm planning to buy:
(I know that the netbooks with Nvidia Ion will be excellent, but I'm not willing to pay that much money for a netbook at the moment.)

It's a seashell, and I love it.

Why would you choose a Netbook over a Notebook?

Price, (increased) portability, and I will be getting a notebook for college about a year from now.

Meh, I'm getting a notebook soon anyways. And this recent update/apps to come have renewed my faith in this Zune. I just really want it to be able to use Youtube/have 3rd party applications/Google apps.
