![]() Corsair just released the first ever 64Gb Flashdrive. How's this Zune related you ask? Well, that's a good question! Technology leaps like these are what help push progress, especially when they can affect Zune. With a 64Gb touchscreen Zune, I'd seriously consider buying one since current touchscreen players offer such low capacities. I don't know about you, but I think it's cool to dream (and send Microsoft a HUGE hint...) [via Corsair via Engadget]

I would honestly enjoy purchasing a 64gb touchscreen Zune.

I want a zune that has the form of an 80, but a 128gb ssd. I could dropkick the thing then(not that I would *hugs zune*).

A couple things:
- Flash Memory works better with touch sensitive screens. Hard drives have a strong magnetic field that disrupts the workings of the screen's sensitivity (that's why you don't see a 120Gb iPod Touch with a hard drive 'cause that's simply not possible) - Flash memory is thought to need less power. No moving parts and the memory is more readily accessible. This is debatable and depends on the device's firmware/software to control the power consumption of the RAM. - Flash memory is a smaller form factor. As you can see, 64Gb in a Flash Drive is tiny but is twice the memory capacity of the Zune 30. Granted, the Zune 30 has more than just memory (like a screen, buttons, etc.) but the physical hard drive inside the Zune 30 is probably a couple times larger than the 64Gb NAND Flash memory (and two times smaller in capacity). Those are just a couple reasons why flash memory is taking over, and HD player will soon be a thing of the past....As the price continues to drop, a smaller package to carry just as much, if not more, memory will become the more desired technology. *looks sadly at his Zune 120*

well, that is a 1.8" hard drive in it, compared to this little 64gb flash drive which is like 2 inch long and like .5" wide? lol your zune is like 6-8" tall around 4" wide? very different in sizes? a flash drive also don't break that easy.
