I'm sorry, but that made me giggle a little bit. Ever seen the catch/miss rate for that? It's in the realm of 10% if memory serves. It'll probably pick up a tracking cookie, leave the rest, and miss everything else entirely. AVG Free, Avira, and Avast are all excellent programs, and they all start with 'A', which is vitally important.

That is the quick scan option. I, along with many other people, find the full scan option to actually help.

Though now I just use Norton

Hey, someone who actually uses Norton. I find that Norton is great at blocking stuff, but seems to lack in the removal department. That's what Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware is excellent for. Also, it's free. It kills the nasty stuff most popular/commercial programs can't.

McAffee IS a virus. It misses all the important stuff and hinders you every step of the way.

I agree, and I'd say the same about that slow piece of crap norton. I'd recommend Avast and Spybot.

I agree that torrents are not necessarily illegal.

I suggest NOD32 for protection against bad stuff. It catches things that other anti-virus programs do not.

Could be the reason all the computers I use have NOD32, works on 32 and 64 bit platforms.

Interesting. Didn't work when I tried it on Vista x64.

My Norton makes me cry, because it can only find tracking cookies. I have to use Spybot SD to actually clean my computer
