Default IE8 Beta 2

It's out, and so far reviews are good. While they say it's not as good as Firefox 3, it's got a new feature where you can view all your tabs at once as small thumbnails (haven't tried it yet) and tabs that are related to each other (I guess the same website) have colors. Nothing they can't do in Firefox, but something to download.

Internet Explorer 8 Download Page

I agree, besides with the "they did a nice job" part. I only have it because it's a update, which means it's something to do.

EDIT: I JUST launched IE 8 Beta 2, and it froze on me. Forget this crap.

I installed it, but I did not restart my laptop yet, so it is still IE7. I will say what I think of it when I get around to restarting.

Eh, I probably won't install it yet. Normally I wouldn't care what happened to IE, but there are some sites here on campus that are IE only, so if I want to say, access Career Services, I need a fully functional IE without having to worry about problems or incompatibilities.

I've now been using it for 2 days and it's nice I can say. I have only had a few crashes (one from Netflix which is incompatible with IE8) but besides that it's been great. When a web site does crash it doesn't bring down the whole browser session. Usually it hangs up on that tab for a few seconds and then it will close and restart that tab only.

It's very hard to judge performance because most things happen so fast but I can say IE8 isn't slow.

I'm very pleased with it so far.

I've had it but like everyone else, I use the superior Mozilla Firefox 3.0

With the "Amazing Bar" they stole from Opera? Firefox is superior to IE, I'll admit though. However, I find it funny that IE handles tabs better than Firefox (you've got to install an add-on just to get basic features like Open Tabs Relative) and now IE's got'em all beat with this sweet "crash only in one tab thing." I've had a few websites that end up killing my browser at times, and while Opera can pick up right where it left off, not having it die at all would be nice. So, IE gets a definite plus in that. Opera is still epic win though.

Hopefully it is stabler than before. Firefox crashed on my girlfriend three times in one hour. She did not have Firefox 3, though.

I tried IE8 Beta 2, and for some reason, Zune Boards does not display properly. When using compatibility mode, though, it looks like normal.

It could've been an ad-on she got (if she got one) that caused it.
