Built my new PC yesterday...

And it's awesome... It runs Halo 2 Vista (My only game atm) at Max settings with 4x Anti-Aliasing. It's really fun, there are a ton of servers, just not that many people, though there were a good 100 people at 3 AM this morning.

Antec 900
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz
4GB (2x2GB) Gold OCZ DDR2 PC6400 Memory
ASUS P5E Motherboard
Samsung F1 750GB 7200RPM Hard Drive
EVGA 8800GT Graphics Card
Samsung 32x DVD Drive
OCZ StealthXStream 500W Power Supply

This thing is awesome.. The Antec 900 is beautiful, and my computer is running extremely cool. It has 8 USB Ports... It had an extra attachement for 2 more and a FireWire, but I wouldn't have been able to attach the FireWire port, so I left it out.

It's running Vista x64, and everything score a 5.9 (Pretty good), except for the RAM, which scored a 5.5

It only cost me about $1,050, lol.

It's probably the sense of accomplishment that's the best thing. I'd be psyched if I built a computer.

Seems a tad foolish though, because you're going to college next year and desktops in college are meh.

Found the cheapest prices, and Pierce, Gow, and Lacrosse helped me decide on the parts.

It's running fantastically.

I should do that. Is there much of a option for building your own laptop?

not really. even if you go to newegg you cant really find internal lappy parts. i wish you could, but the most customization you can get is all the little options on the site.

on subject, nice build drag! can you put 2 of those 8800s in SLI? with that you could run CoD4 and crysis on highish settings. btu if you were to do that, youd need a better PSU. still something to consider in the future

Meh... I don't think I'll do SLI, but it's possible, I suppose.

This thing runs great, I'm really happy with it.

And as far as customizable Laptops, not really... There is one company that has a kit out, but it's basically "Build it Yourself", not really as customizable as truly building your own Desktop.

Guess you should have gotten the Mushkin RAM as mine scores 5.9 with DDR2 800.
