OK, this isn't a trick, I'm not from some FBI or anything, I'm just curious. With all of the people running Windows Vista (any version) on this forum, how many of you legally own it?

since it usually doesn't come with an install disc, i'd guess probably everyone got it with there pcs.. or upgrades on old pc..

I don't use Vista right now, but when I get my lappy it will have Vista on it and that will be legal.

I have a free copy of Vista Business but never installed it, so I chose the third option.

WOW .... I can't believe i'm the only one. Maybe because I'm Canadian and everything you download or can get a hold of from somebody else is considered legal. So now i'm a proud owner of pirated genuine legal $400 valued windows vista ultimate from isohunt. LOL

my school bought new dells last year, each computer came with driver repair disks and one windows Business dvd. they were dumping all the cds in the trash. i took like 50 of the vista dvds. i have had vista installed ever scene then and i love it. all my apps and games work fine and i have the stickers with the key codes. would this be legal. i only have about 10 dvds left, i been selling them for $50 each

That is very much illegal, especially because you are selling them. The product keys are already in use at the school!

It's been quite a while since they say they're going to do it. They never did. I'm not saying they will not do it, but I just don't think it will be applied any sooner.

To answer the question, I don't own Vista. I'm using XP.

On my PC I have a legal version of XP, but I usually use my laptop so it's Vista legally for me. It's not as bad as they say it is, just pisses me off when you get 10 different warnings before you install something, lol.
