Default Looking For Content Player

Here's what I've been searching for: some kind of peripheral I can connect to my TV that'll play content I have stored on my External Hard Drive via USB. that I've looked anywhere and everywhere for one of these, but for the life of me I cannot find what I'm looking for. Currently my Xbox serves this purpose but I'd prefer something smaller and more portable. The more media types accepted, the better.

Preferably, I'd like something that doesn't steam off my computer. I have no wireless router and have no plans on getting one (unless my laptop's connection will suffice on it's own).

Thanks in advance!

Couple things to try:
get a SD card and place your content on the SD card!
Insert it into a digital camera and plug the camera into the t.v.!
Another thing, some portable dvd players/t.v.s have slots where you can insert your SD cards and you can watch what is on them!
If you have a zune, sync the content on to the zune, like a video!
Then, if you have enough money,(these things are very cheap), purchase a cord to connect your zune to your t.v., in which you can play music, look at pics, watch a movie, watch a podcast, etc. on your t.v. from your zune. I have one at home! It works really well! Try it out for your self! Good Luck and I hope this helps!

Looking for good quality.

I just found one of the sweetest things I've laid eyes on: http://www.popcornhour.com/onlinestore/

If you have DVD's at home, which most do
you can use a dvd ripper
this one makes your movies perfect on zune and it is free, its
called tubehunter
heres the website:
the video quality is great and its free:
http://www.download3000.com/download...reg-18319.html
Try it out!
I loved it!
After the program is installed, click on
"DVD Ripper"
and make sure all your settings are right, you can rip it straight to zune format and
it will look great on your t.v. Also, it does on mine! Heres a picture of tubehunter the program:

I hope this helps!

Don't want to watch them on my zune. Quality would suffer too badly and I'd have to reencode everything. I'm too lazy for that

I'll probably end up buying Popcorn Hour

No, using the cord for zune to t.v., it would allow for you to watch the videos from your zune, on your t.v. in good quality!
