Radioshack Part Number:
Phono (RCA) Plug: 274-383 or 274-0384 Basically, my idea is to take my old broken zune headphones, which I have already stripped and burned enamel off of, and connect them to these plugs. From what I've read, the ring is negative and the prong is positive. This would be for aux. jacks on my stereo. Does anyone know any reason this won't work? This would be great with the zune alarm, and that's pretty much why I'm making it. And because I've wanted to run it through my stereo without ripping my stereo apart since I got my zune. |

No reason it shouldn't work. You got all the polarities down. It sounds like it should work.

If I understand correctly, you are trying to make a Y-cable. It goes from a male 3.5mm headphone jack to 2 male RCA plugs. They make these cables you can buy, they are cheap. I wouldn't recommend making one yourself, you're messing with an analog audio signal, by soldering the two things together, you're going to add resistance, which will hurt your audio quality. Just buy one, here's one for 5 dollars.
