Well, no matter what it looks like, I think it looks tight.

It looks interesting, though they've definitely got some fine-tuning to do (assuming this is real, which is completely up in the air for me). I've done a lot of designing, and I've seen several of those images around the net. I doubt MS would use old/current stock to promote an OS for 2010.

Doesn't Microsoft focus on functionality first, and then they change how it look towards the end of development? I heard that Vista beta to the final release changed the visual aspects quite a bit.

Of course it looks familiar. The graphical changes come last. Until then, they'll use the Vista look.

So the final release will probably look nothing like what we're seeing now (if the screenshots aren't fake for that matter)

Correct. They work on the kernel and inner workings before they will do stuff like making it look pretty and adding skin changes.

The authenticity of some of those pictures might be questionable but the intent maybe be real.

Yeah, I'm hearing some good things about the new kernel for Windows 7. Supposedly it's streamlined for cheap, small PCs like the EeePC. Microsoft's OS's come in patterns. As as much as I'd like to forget Windows ME (I still get nightmares about it), Vista is reminding me of it. Therefore, I have high hopes for Windows 7.

They should come up with a cool name for it like Windows OMEGA or Windows THETA.

You can thank Stardock for making those applications possible... lol
