Default Anyone ever have problems with Realtek HD Audio cards?

I've got this sound card and recently have been having some problems with it (second time since last year the card stopped working for some reason). I'm getting blue screens more often, and I think it could be my sound card (though it could be anything, it doesn't really bother me. Hell, I'll be a loser and blame Vista.)

I'm not really concerned since a simple driver reinstall usually fixes it, just wondering if you guys ever have problems with these guys.

Realtek...always with my Intel 865Perl motherboard. That is why I bought an Auzentech Xplosion (C-Media chipset) sound card and have had no headache dealing with it. Plus some of the games that were incompatible with the Realtek built-in card are compatible with my Auzentech.

There is also Turtle Beach, Razer and several others.

Don't buy into that Creative EAC stuff.

My Realtek HD has given me no problems, and actually sounds awesome with my Pioneer ExagiSurround Sound.

Possibly... Realtek is still one of the top 10 for HD Audio Devices.

You might find that it is only the case if the Realtek card uses a C-Media chip. Does your utilize a C-Media chip?

Indeed it does. And surprisingly, mine is built-in/integrated with my laptop.

Vaio ftw.
