he wants xp... and mac don't have enough dedicated video for graphic stuff.

that's why I said "i don't think that's what you're looking for",
but macs are amazing for music, video, graphics, everything media related, a mac is the best at, that's the bottom line.

the battery shouldn't be a concern w/ the extra built in 6 cell. I should get at least 3 hours w/ 2 6- cell batts, stealth mode(underclock and turn down fan's) and Binary GFX(switch from the NVIDIA to integrated w/ a button push)

The Second one I posted with the 8600GT and 9 cell batter should do the trick.

lol i think everyone thinks that it would be too expensive... mainly 8600m should be enough for those applications.. and those computers that have 8600m are about $1000 or below

I'd still go with a maxed out version of this,http://configure.us.dell.com/dellsto...YDWHR1&x=0&y=0

Includes 3 year warranty and 3 year accidental damage.

The alienware would have less battery power because of the graphics.

There is nothing wrong with Vista when the machine can actually handle it. Have you ever had a machine that can really run vista?
