Default DVD Ripping?

I'm looking to rip a copy of a few of my DVDs to my computer for storing purposes, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this? It seems like any time that I do it, the file is very low quality, and extremely bloated. Does anyone know a good program to use, and a way to get the best quality to size ratio?

Use DVD Decrypter (it will take off copywrite protection) to create a single .VOB (which is dvd quality).

Either leave it as it is or convert it to avi, your choice.

Try one of the freeware converters, links in my signature. I recommend using WMV9, 320*240, 1200kbps.

Greg I think he just wants back ups not rips for use with the zune so he can keep the original dimensions and stick with DivX.

Not necessarily DivX. Plus, I've heard h.264 has better quality to size ratio, anyone know if this is true?

I'm trying DVD Decryptor + Auto Guardian Knot... It's taking a while, but if it works, I'll post the guide I found in the tutorials section.
