Seems like the days of Digital movies with settop boxes, Microsoft's future tablet plus surface vision and a myriad of other applications that require speed like no other are closer to becoming mainstays than the rest of us realized.

Possible technologies made obsolete by the Grid:

Blu-Ray, movies over the grid at high resolution
WiFi N, the grid would require a faster WiFi connection for people to get the "full" advantage of it
DSL, Cable and Dialup (finally), faster, cheaper connections
Gow, he will be upgraded to a new improved faster Gow...maybe Coyote Fast Gow or just plain El Coyote Rápido

Sounds good and it will probably gain footing a lot faster than the internet did, after all I was surfing before Al Gore took the initiative to create the thing.

EDIT: There is no could make the internet obsolete if it holds true to its specs it WILL make the internet obsolete.

You speak truth and comedy.

"El Coyote Rápido" suits you well.

That seems pretty cool but it will probably WAY to expensive when it first comes out to the public whenever that is.

I agree with Zuune.

It should still be called "The Internet" as well....

I want it now! Sadly there's a limit to the speed. 65.6 GB/s dl speed. That's as fast as we can get until we figure out subspace. And I really wan it now! Why saline? Why? Tempt w/ such things.

lol that'll probably happen in the next millennium but for sure none time soon! but on discovery channel i heard some scientists ARE trying to figure out a way to but robotics and humans together. they put a robotic ear in someone's arm and for the first 2 hours it worked fine. but at the 3rd hour his arms began to swell and things gone bad... =/

It's from Fox so I'm sure it's somewhat accurate. However I doubt the technological adeptiveness of the reporters of Fox. But still, it's an interesting story.

Yeah fox...
This seems cool, although I like the Internet, I'm sure I will like the grid more.

We'll all be dead after the Large Hadron Collider goes online and creates micro black holes that will destroy the Earth.

The Large Hadron Collider. Be afraid.

If/when this comes out there won't be any contest between the two. This will completely blow the internet out of the water. I'm stoked to see where this goes, it will revolutionize just about everything computer-related.
