This one is $87 and seams to have good reviews:

I'd wait and talk to Marshillboy or Robb. They know their stuff.

I would not get the 7600 as it lacks Shader Model 3.0 support and has a lower clock than other Nvidia cards out there.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...289&Tpk=7950gt

The 7950GT has 512mb, Shader Model 3.0 and is one of the fastest of the 7000 series. Plus it has GDDR3 Video Ram instead of GDDR2.

There are also lower Ram 8000 series cards that are good. An 8800GT 256mb comes around the same price as the 7950GT, has a higher clock and is DirectX 10.

Personally, I would save up a little more cash and grab the 8800GT 512mb because its a monster of a card at a pretty fair price and will be good for gaming for years.

If you were willing to throw in an extra $30 or so, the ATI Radeon HD3850 would be a VERY worthwhile investment that would last you a long time.

Hopefully, the new R700 core lives up to AMD's word and we see a turn around of the recent Graphic Card battle so nVidia gets off their arse and develop better drivers.

Another option could be the AMD 3870.

I'd def. throw in a few extra dollars and get a 8800GT. It WILL be worth it.

Then again... you might as well throw in a few dollars more and get a 8800GTS G92.. then again, you could throw in a few dollars more and get a 8800GTX like me.... then again...

Another option that will be hitting the shelves soon...the 8800GT 1GB Edition. 1GB of RAM versus 512mb. Also, the prices have finally come down on 512mb cards as you can not get the eVGA Superclocked for the correct price of $269 or the stock clock for $249.

Kinda off-topic, but is the 8800 GT from NVidia as good as it sounds?

It's expensive enough.

I'll just get a HD2900pro, until next gen stuff comes out.
the 8800gt is good, but all the dx10 cards suck in dx10

the 8800gt is good if overclocked properly it can reach 8800gtx speeds, and for a lower price!
