The best way to be safe is the following:

Peerguardian or the like. There is a beta for windows vista (read the peerguardian forums).

Use a anonymous proxy to download the .torrent files. I use guardster.

Pray! Don't download movies that aren't out yet, and don't download the entire internet. Also use a torrent program that offers encryption. Such as utorrent.

Yes, just don't use public trackers. Use peer guardian when you must.

yea were still legal for filesharing and stuff like that, we were supposed to have laws but our incompetent government hasn't gotten around to it.
