Default Ubuntu on a portable device. Need help

Hey guys I have a Sony MyLo. Its basically like a pocket pc but it doesn't have alot of features. I was wondering if any could tell me how to install and/or run Ubuntu on it. If I'm not mistaken its open source so there shouldn't be issues with security.

It hasn't been done yet.
Ubuntu On The Sony Mylo - MyloForums - Sony MyLife Online
Who ever figures it out will get 500$, I don't know how it'll be installed.
Did you even google it?

I don't know/own a MyLo well enough to know any exploits.
Good luck

Unfortunately i think they are not selling them anymore. Anyway i hope i can get ubuntu on it or at least puppy linux. It has the speed and battery life. 800mhz processor with 6 hours of battery life. I have the com-2 so linux may not be possible.

edit: The mylo com-2 runs on qtopia linux so if you guys know anyway to make apps or download apps to the device i would appreciate it.

edit number 2: ok guys doing research im in school found the source code for the mylo heres a link http://www.sony.net/Products/Linux/VAIO/COM-2.html .
I have no clue what to do with teh source code but any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If there's source code, that means you can modify it to your hearts desire. Getting it on your device is another story though. You have to be familiar with making and flashing ROMs for your device. If it was a Pocket PC, I would be able to help sooo much, but since it is not... I don't know much more that I can say.

I would imagine that your best bet would be to get android on your phone... as it's made for cellular devices. Ubuntu isn't built around cell phones, so MUCH more work is needed to get it running as ubuntu and a phone.

Pocket PC = touch screen windows mobile phone...

when you said it was like pocket pc, I assumed that it was a phone that had a proprietary OS. Anyway, you still need to know how to get into the bootloader and flash custom ROMs before you can even do anything.
