Vista hanging problem

I've had a problem with Vista Hanging after startup up when I first try to start a program or sometimes even open the start menu.

Well that helps it boot up faster, but it still hangs after awhile. I guess it feels like the HDD stops working.

Disable Transparency and Aero and see if that helps any.
