If you want a new web browser, go to Mozilla | Firefox web browser & Thunderbird email client to get FireFox 3, I think it's the best browser out there.

Just put it into Compatibility Mode. Things will look like before if you do that.

What do you even mean by "screwed up"? Maybe it's not even the browser's fault that is to blame, and the problem could be easily solved.

4 comments and only one tries to resolve the problem, come on guys this is not the Browser evangelism section it is Tech. Help.

As for the problem at hand, follow Netrix's advice, IE 8 introduces a new semi-standards compliant browser that has trouble displaying the older IE 7 non-standards style. It might be best to go back to IE 7 if you want stability because IE 8 will run into problems like this BUT you can run it in compatibility mode by either clicking "Emulate IE 7" button on IE 8 Beta 1 or clicking on the broken page icon in the location bar on the right that pops up in IE 8 Beta 2.

If you have IE 8 Beta 1, it is time to go to IE Beta 2 because it works a lot better than Beta 1. If you use Vista, you have to remove IE Beta 1 before installing IE 8 Beta 2. To do so you have to go to... ">" denotes option in that menu, i.e. Control Panel>Mouse means to go to control panel and inside that is the Mouse menu.

Start>Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>

On the left of the new window that pops up for uninstalling programs is an option that reads "View Installed Updates", click that and scroll down to the bottom of the list. There should be an entry that reads "Windows Internet Explorer 8", right click on that entry and left click on uninstall. Reboot if necessary and install IE 8 Beta 2.

You can also do this to go back to IE 7.

Netrix already had it handled, so I took the liberty of offereing a different kind of help; it's a known fact that only Opera users go to Heaven.

You Google IE 7. Microsoft's sight ought to be #1. Download it there.

IE 7 is the default browser of Vista. Uninstall IE 8 like I typed earlier to go back to IE 7.
