cucusoft zune video suite, or something like that, is what i've always used. it's wonderful and easy. and it shrinks the video size down a lot too, like. from 700 to 250 mb, about. with high quality, too.

I use "Encode 360" Its free and it works for zune ,xbox 360, or any Microsoft device.
just Google "encode 360" and you should find a page that has the encoder itself and all prerequisites. I think it works for XP ,vista both 32 bit and 64 bit. P.S: sorry if this is kinda an old thread was searching for something when i came across it =P, no link or URL cause i need 4 more posts -.- |

I've been trying the cucusoft trail version... but the conversion seems really slow. It seems that it takes longer to convert than to see the DVD which is rolling across the screen. Am I doing something wrong. Also, Ive read user comments on videora, wondershare and DVD fab platinum. Now I'm really confused. I need something that is really easy to use - not technically inclined. (I hope I posted this in the right place - I'm a new (today) member. thanks

Fastest is derived from what codec you use. No single software can speed up a codec encoding process. WMV 9 is notoriously known for being one of the slower encoding codecs.
I use DVDFab Platinum, lifetime license and great software. I usually go from DVD to Mpeg-4 or h264 as the Zune 80 supports it.

For a Zune 30 it will have to be WMV 9, 320x240 (Fullscreen) or 320x180 (Widescreen), 29.97fps or source material FPS, somewhere inbetween 0.9Mbps to 1.3Mbps video bitrate with an audio bitrate of 128 or 160 kbps.
DVDFab does have that covered. A couple of other ones do as well but I keep coming back to DVDFab when I need to take a DVD and convert it to any kind of video.
