Angry XNA game studio 3.0 install problems...

Hey, im new here, so sorry if this is in the wrong section, and i did a search but it came up with nothing....
Anyways, everytime i try to install XNA game studio 3.0 it ends with an error. It will basically install up to "Installing Games for Windows - LIVE Redit" then it hangs for about 5-10 minutes, then it rollsback all the actions it had done and then it says "XNA Game Studio 3.0 installer has ended prematurly due to an error. Try installing again later."(Or something similar, but no "error code" or anything like that)

I have .NET framework 3.5, and XP is up to date. I've tried rebooting my computer and trying to install again, and still nothing
Anyone know whats wrong? Or maybe something else i could try? I really want games on my zune ^_^ Any help is greatly appreciated!

~Jeff

Welcome to zB Jeff!

Restart the installation and uncheck the boxes that state "Allow direct communication to the Xbox 360" and the other one and it will not try to install Games for Windows LIVE.

Ok, i tried doing both "Yes, i wish to select these rules to enable(With both of the things unchecked)" and "No, I do not want these rules enabled" and it still says/hangs at "Installing Games for windows - LIVE Redist" :/
And thanks for the welcome

Well you can use RIG as an alternative

I found this if you have a dual-core AMD processor it says to download this package to fix it. Something about hanging when connecting to the XBox Live servers.

This happened for me too, just delete any remnants of live for windows. Like say you have Gears of War for pc or any Xbox Live game just uninstall the windows xbox live.

It should be located in Program Files- Windows Live- and something like Live Games or games or whatever and just uninstall or delete (prefer uninstall) and if its not there than search and uninstall and than it should run smoothly

I guess it just doesnt work right for XP if its already uninstalled if this guy is right. In Vista it just pretty much overwrote it for me and went smoothly.
