[SOLVED] A small problem with Total Video Converter.

I downloaded an OAV called Cat Soup (in avi format), my computer reads it perfectly and I wanted to convert this file into .wmv (with Total Video Converter) so I could watch it on my Zune. However, when I try to convert it, a message appears in the File Info blank and says "Cannot open the file". Then, a window with the icons of my desktop in it pops up out of nowhere.

I don't understand, could it be caused by copyrights or something ? I've been using this program for a while since WinAVI gave me up, and it used to work perfectly till now. This issue shows up only with this video; with the others, it works perfectly.

Haven't used total video converter but once. Have you updated the program to the latest version and/or did you install any codec packs that could be conflicting with it?

Could try uninstalling it, run CCleaner to clean registry and reinstall it to see if that fixes any mess ups in the registry.

Also, please put your operating system in your request as it makes it easier to figure out what actions that people can suggest you take.

I'm not using the latest version, but I don't think it could be the problem because it works fine with any other video. I installed the K-Lite Codec Pack a long time ago but it never caused any problem.

I'm using XP, I'm sorry that I didn't mention it earlier.

If it only has a problem with WMV conversion you could try using a different program form WMV conversion such as Encode360 or one of the others in the list in this thread:

Just grab one for Video to WMV since that is all you need really. A short term or long term workaround solution while you figure out why Total Video Converter is being a pain.

I just downloaded another version of this video and I didn't have any problem with this one. I guess the issue was related to the video itself.
