Default Vista Themes

I cant seem to get any vista themes to work. Every time i load new ones (M11 and TruDark) It always just changes my theme to Windows classic. Anybody else have this problem?

Have you patched your MUI files?

And if you have and it's still not working...apply the theme, then restart.

Should work.

Are you choosing the correct visual style from the window it brings up?

If you used the right UXTheme.dll files from Within Windows and have compatible Vista visual style it should work. You just have to make sure you select the right selection from the Visual Style list as most people tend to forget to include the thumbnail shot that shows how the visual style will look when applied.

Be aware that you computer must meet or exeed the Windows Vista Areo interface requirements or else VTP 8 will grind your computer to a halt. This thing works wonder on my friend's AMD quadcore computer with 2GB of ram and integrated x1250 on a D690 chipset. On my 1.3ghz AMD duron from 6 years ago with 1GB of DDR266 ram and a Nvidia graphic card from 10 years ago, cannot run this Vista Transformation Pack. The CPU ussage is 100% all the time and you can't do anything with the computer.

Guide me step by step here. I want to apply the M11 theme, now when i select it in the themes section, it only shows a Widows Classic Desktop. Now what.

1. Copy contents of extracted folder that includes a folder and theme file to Windows>Resources>Themes>
2. Open up folder for M11 Theme and click on the Visual Style inside.
3. If UXtheme has been patched the new visual style will be added to the list.
4. Look through list to find visual style, hint if the Visual Style entries read

Windows
Windows Vista Basic
Windows Standard
Windows Classic

You are at the bottom of the list with the Windows Aero Visual Style...scroll up into entries that read just Windows Aero and Windows Vista Basic for the Visual Style M11 entry.

5. Apply the chosen Visual Style and Enjoy.

Not the M11 Theme but you get the picture on this step

Those this is all dependent on the UXtheme.dll and the other two being replaced with the Within Windows (website) files.
