Default xp sp3

will I be at any more of a security risk if I dont install sp3, but keep regularly updating via windows update? because none of the features are worth the hassle and possible endless bsod. im thinking of running this to avoid seeing the update.

I'm using SP3, and I'm not at all worried about BSOD.

Download it because, yes, you will be at risk. SP3 patched much of the SP2 security problem, and aren't just simply available through windows update.

Same here, I never faced the BSOD.

I installed it and didn't notice a difference, as long as you don't download questionable things, you will be fine.

I don't think you will be at much risk yet. SP2 still is up to date with security updates. SP3 is known to have speed increases if that interests you. I still haven't upgraded to SP3 yet because I want to do a fresh install first, you can have issues occasionally just upgrading.

Short of doing a completely fresh install, I don't know.

I've got SP3 because of any reasons said above, but I'm not even worried about BSOD.

I heard rumors it might even make your system run just a bit faster, and I feel like my PC is faster.

So is it an issue with AMDs only? Does it include all AMDs?

I love SP3! I really noticed a difference in speed (In a good way)

So is it a general consensus from everyone running SP3 that it's noticeably faster?

I'm sure the actual percentage of speed increase varies from system to system. Is it noticeable speed, or only in synthetic benchmarks? Also, has anyone actually ran like PC game benchmarks from SP2 to SP3 and got higher frame rates?

According to some reports online, the speed increase is noticeable, which has peaked my interest. Is anybody else able to confirm this?
