Video Editing Software

ok i'm looking for some Video Editing Software i know of adobe after effects... but i don't what its capable of... i want something a more then basic n something i can add effects like lightsabers and stuff along those lines.
anyone know of any good programs ... i'm not to worried about the cost..

Well if cost isnt an issue after effects can do anything and I mean ANYTHING. Other programs include Sony Vegas or Pinnacle Studio, but I still much prefer After Effects as it is easier to use.

Not sure if they still make it but you'd probably be able to find it regardless... Adobe Premier... I used to use it all the time when I did video editing. It's an advanced editing program and I don't think I ever ran into anything that I wasn't able to do with it.

Yes I would totally recommend Adobe Premier if you are on the PC side of things. I used Premier Pro 2.0 in my broadcasting class and its a very nice piece of software. It will do everything. If you are just a home video editor, get Adobe Premier Elements, its 70-100 dollars, and will probably do everything you want. Adobe After Effects is NOT a video editing software, it's meant to go along side Premier and it makes effects like (gun shots, explosions, light sabers, etc) then you import them into your video in Premier. If you by After Effects on its own you are going to be very disappointed. Look into getting Premier Elements.
