I was sooo happy I got my new Zune today. After the death of my recent Ipod I swore I'd never go back. But I already hit a snag. I ripped a cd using the Zune software and not only did it put the songs under the incorrect names, it didn't even copy all of the song, or if it did, bits of the song are all out of order. Any thoughts? Should I just rip with another program (eek, like Itunes?)
If you're having problems, rip using Windows Media Player. That's always been reliable.
If you like MP3 over WMA, in WMP 11, go to the Rip tab, click the drop down menu, "More Options...", and adjust the settings to how you like them. If not, just go to the rip tab and rip them. If you still have problems, be sure you don't have conflicting codecs or something of that sort.
I can suggest another program called EAC (Exact Audio Copy) also known as the perfect rip. It's a fairly simple program to use, and it gives great results. If you're worried about tags, once you put the CD in, it automatically searches the freedb database and puts the correct tags in. I highly recommend it; however, some may encounter some tech lingo. As Dragod was saying, you could use WMP to player to rip the music for you.
yeah, I heard that using the Zune software isn't the best thing for wanting to rip CD's. don't give up on the Zune. Just use WMP, it'll automatically go into the Zune software anywhere.

If I were you'd I'd ALWAYS rip with a different program. My media player of choice is JetAudio so that's what I use.
