but my question is is there a catch.
i mean is it legal

You have to renew your account every 30 days by doing surveys. Plus, the music has DRM, so it would not be supported by the zune.

My guess is they make money from those survays.

All music comes from Indie artists from across the world and from all genres of music.

Requires registration and the use of a bittorrent client to download albums but other than that its all legal and all free. No renewals nor surveys needed.

Eh I'd still rather stick to torrents. You don't get caught as easily :P

i'd not be too sure about that - anything that the man isn't too fond of is possible to be caught. in fact, comcast recently sent me a warning letter for a movie i was dl'ing with torrents and basically threatened to terminate my contract. so now i pretty much stick to music and small stuff. but anyway..

spiralfrog reminds me of that whole qtrax thing, which would be amazing if it actually got anywhere.. but as of now it looks like a flop.

I tried using Spiralfrog when it started (I actually followed them for about .5 year before they opened), and the performance to claim ration was so low, I dropped it right away
