Default Podcast subscriptions keep unsubscribing

For the past week I seem to lose most or all of my podcast subscriptions each time I synch my Zune 8 gig with the desktop and have to click the subscribe button on each one if I want new content.

I found this TechNet article but it refers to the issue if you are subscribing from the Zune device. I am subscribing from the desktop software.

Any suggestions (other than buying an iPod) would be appreciated.

I've heard one of the only ways to fix this is if you unsubscribe from the podcasts, delete everything you've downloaded from that podcast, and then resubscribe. It happened to me too.

I tried all the unsubscribe and deleting and then resubscribing but it didn't work. I finally just cleared the device, removed the software, deleted any registry and left over files and folders and then reinstalled and set it up fresh. It looks like all is well again.

Well I spoke too soon. This is just too much trouble. The main reason I bought it was to keep up with some technical podcasts. I went with a Zune over an iPod because I just have a hard time buying an Apple product when my livelihood is planning and implementing Microsoft systems. Does anyone one want to buy a slightly used black 8 gig Zune?

Don't Sell the Device just because of this problem!

Just go to My Music>Zune>Podcasts and delete whatevers there. Not that hard.

I thought the idea was to have it done all automatically and not have to manually intervene each time I want to sync up new podcasts

However, I think I may have figured out a less painful work-around until MS corrects the issue, though I will need a few days of new podcast becoming available for download to verify it works. If you re-subscribe to the first one (or any one) in the list, then hit Ctrl-A to select the entire list, then right click the one you selected at first and choose "Check for Updates" from the context menu, it appears to go through the entire list and check to see if there is new content. If this works, it will be a lot less trouble than clicking the subscribe button on each one every time.

Unfortunately, that doesn't solve the problem either. That just requires you to wait for them all to download again (even the ones you have already listened to) AFTER you go through the list hitting the subscribe button over and over and over...

Neither does what I suggested above of only subscribing to one and then selecting all to update.

I guess my next question is will I even be able to buy an Apple product? I don't have any tattoos, body piercings and I don't smell like I haven't showered in a week.
