Okay, I'm about ready to blow a few neurons over this issue
![]() I am having a problem with the right side earpiece not working on any set of in-the-ear earphones that I have purchased. Well, that side is not working "consistently". To get it to work I have to gently jiggle the wire going into the earpiece or slightly push the earpiece a bit deeper into my ear canal. Sometimes that tactic works and other times it doesn't. I started out with the Zune Premiums, then went with a $60 pair of Sony's (forget the model) that I eventually had to exchange for a new pair of the same model. All three sets pretty much didn't work right from day one. Trust me, I treat my gear with the utmost of TLC so misuse is not a factor!!! Here's the real kicker............. I have a cheapo earbud set that came with a Rio MP3 player that I bought several years ago. This is the type of earphone that lays over the top of the ear. Well, this pair works just fine. The right side has never given me any problems. I know it's not my Zune because I've tried all three sets on my friend's Ipod with the same results. Any idea's why this is?? Keep in mind that all three pairs were brand new and giving me problem right from the start. In fact, both sets of the Sony earphones had only the left side working the very first time I plugged them in. After discovering the jiggle/push trick, they started working but not for long. Granted all of these earphones pale in comparison to the high end stuff out there but it's still a major thorn in my Azz!!!! I'm currently shopping around for a higher end set of earphones but I don't want to spend over $200 on them and then have the right side issue like this.............might have to call the men with a straight jacket if that happens!!! Can some one recommend a good pair of in-the-ear earphones that are under $200 ??? Sorry for the rant, but I need some insight here....am I being punished by the music Gods?? Am I destined to only listed to my Zune on a $2.00 pair of Rio headphones?? I need some help people...... ![]() Last edited by hoosier4974 : 12-19-2007 at 09:14 PM. |

(this topic could be elsewhere - not zune 30 related?) did it happen while they were in your zune? maybe a short or something?
i would say try some cheap different ones and see if you get the same result ![]() |

Make sure the jack is fully in the socket. Cases can interfere with this.
Honestly, it just sounds like bad headphone design. (also, moved to tech. help)

There I moved it.
Now I actually had this happen with my Premiums. In that case it was ok since I got them free from Microsoft. However I was disappointed because the Premium Headphones are about $40 so for them to break so easily is a bummer. |
