My Zune is lagging!!!

Please help me. I bought a brown zune 30 yesterday and it is already lagging. when i go to songs it takes about 15-20 seconds for the song to start. It also skips a lot. I'm using the 2.2 firmware. Do i have to do a hard reset? If so how is that done? Also i have tried removing all songs and re syncing them.

A hard reset can be preformed by pressing the back (<-) and up buttons
