Suddenly my pc doesn't recognize Zune, even though it says 'connected' on the zune and the zune is getting power. I'm getting a message that says USB Device isn't recognized, but this is happening on two separate computers, and it's worked fine until this happened. I upgraded to the new software, but again, it worked fine initially, this just started being a problem today. Also, the wall charger and car charger won't work (though again, I am able to charge using the pc connection). Could I have damaged the connectors? Is there anything I can try? Thanks for any suggestions.

This might sound simple but have you tried restarting the pc, I say this because it happened to me once but after a restart the zune connected fine.
Hope that helps

It sounds like a damaged pin, time to get it fixed. If its still under Microsoft's warranty call them up. If other (i.e. Best Buy), take it to them. The only way you can fix this yourself is by replacing the port, which is not that easy of a task to do.
Although before going off to warranty try a reboot and try uninstalling the driver for the Zune in the My Computer>Hardware section. Maybe its just the driver but from the evidence it is most likely a damaged pin, especially if the other accessories are not charging.

Here's the odd thing - I now find that it works fine on my work computer. So it doesn't work on my two computers at home, but works fine on the third computer. I'm using the same cable in all three places, so it's not that. I can try the uninstalling bit, but it seems odd that it went bad on two of three computers at the same time.

If thats the case it probably is a bad driver and can be easily rectified by uninstalling the driver/device from the hardware section in Computer>Properties. Than when you connect the device again it should reinstall the driver and work...maybe.
