Well I personally don't use Windows Movie Maker. I prefer a few other programs it just depends on what OS you have and how much RAM. As far as it goes I would use Sony Vegas 8.0 w/ Vista or XP w/ 1Gb RAM any oder edition is fine with XP only. Also Adobe Premier CS3 and After Effects CS3 are great!!they also need 1GB RAM and Vista or XP works. Premiere for editing and After Effects for Effects. Now if you have an older system Jahshaka Video Editor works and it works on Linux as well.
Im sure you can find ways around payment by going to sites like the Piratebay.org and searching for them |

Beware though, CS3's requirements are pretty intense. Wouldn't even install on mine ![]()

Yeah, it is. Really I still prefer Premier though in conjunction w/ After Effects. Now I know thats two different programs, but they are to different programs that do EXACTLY as they were meant to do. Unlike those all in one programs like Vegas for example (No hate on Vegas its still amazing) where they are combining two separate programs into one making it just rather mediocre, just like in real life a specialist is always gonna be better than your average Joe. Another good thing about Premier and After Effects is the work flow they both work together flawlessly, as they were meant to be. Premier does the edits After Effects is the Effects. So just pick what you think suites you best.
