Yes the anime was very good. It was the best anime that I've seen in many years. Did you watch online or Adult Swim. And it could be the type of anime that you like. Are you into anime that keeps you guessing till the very end and is full of plot twists, deep plots, and over all greatness, and also features no sexual innuendos?

If you answered no to all of these then it's not for you. Because they waited till episode 31 to show some cleavage. Where as most other anime (pokemon will never be included I hope) they show sex every five seconds. Sex Sex, Sex, that's it it's almost pron.

Well no, but the Japanese movies do go after it. there's also a novel. The novel's a prequel.
The third movie. is also a prequel.
First movie is episodes 1-25 and then it just ends.
Second is after all of that I think. There's some major changes.
The third is a prequel also. I think it's like the novel. So the movies are definatly worth watching.

Read the manga, tried watching the anime (Misa.. oh gods.. just die), and when I watched the first movie it was all I could do not to snarl at how wrong it seemed (characters didn't look or act like they did in the manga).

Only watched the anime online.. was good!! Loved it a lot. It's not like most anime, also because their isn't really a good guy and bad guy in the anime. It all matters on how you see and judge the two sides. Of Light trying to be a death god, but at the same time stop crime which he did in the anime. He lowered crime rates because people thought Kira(light) would kill them. Then you have L and his brothers who think of this as wrong, etc.. etc..
But yeah good anime, wish it wasn't suck a short series though. Oh yeah Ryuk is bad a**!!

No misa doesn't just die in the anime she lives until the very end of the series. Oh you mean she dies in the manga. Well the live action is very accurate to the manga. And I've read most of it. The charecters are much more developed in the anime. You see in the manga they are 2 dimensional they don't move and all of their voices. The anime really reveals all of the dimensions of the characters because most of the characters you invent how they talk and act. The mangaka just does key things where as the Anime does it all.

No. The anime ending is SLIGHTLY different from the manga ending, but it still ends in the same place.

Of course, there has been a book, 3 movies(Live action, 2 parts for the series and one about L called "L Change the WorLd"), and the anime and manga.

Death Note is my favorite anime ever, and the only thing I haven't seen besides the movie about L and the book is the "How To Read 13" manga where it says what happens to the characters after the series ends.

Either way, sad to see it end but I also wanted to see the things that happened happen, it was so great. I was one of the people who got fansubs too.

Death Note is a story about Light Yagami(Imagay backwards) who is the smartest student in Japan. One day, he finds a notebook on the ground called the Death Note, where if you write someone's name in it that person dies of a heart attack in 40 seconds.

this was one of the best manga ive ever read. did you know they had one very last chapter where they show how other death gods try to copy ryuk and mess up the world? then it goes to character analysis. you can read it at onemanga.com

Its really good, im not really a person who watches cartoons or anime but this show is really good, i like the way that everything is planned, like they think of stuff nobody would notice, actually L is the one that does, lol.

Yes and as I've seen this thread is still alive which I like. And I haven't read the manga because I don't have that kinda patience. And the movies, how well is the acting? I ask for I do not know.

No, no. I didn't say Misa dies at all. I meant that I wanted her to. I can't stand her character.

Although, she did do something very, very cool at the end of the manga.
