15 Post required To Request

I think you should require atleast 15 post before allowed to ask for a movie or video, what do you guys think?

How would we enforce this? Just delete the requests of anyone we see with less than 15 posts? In some cases, doing that just advocates them spamming to get the 15 posts

I would say more like 5 request answers or like a quest or somthing they must complete in order to get right to view a certain forum containing downloads. So they cant spam themselves 15 posts they actually have to do some work. As for the quest how about like 3 programs 1 uncommon meduim to find and 2 regular and upload them all?

No, that would be suicide for the site. Who would join if they had to do that crap? I wouldn't have and I didn't even join for the media.

well in other forums certain areas have a post restriction and its a script I think actually. maybe 15 is a little much but, maybe something like they need to get +3 rep before being allowed to request.

Again this is only to request not for downloading and stuff.

If people don't want to fulfill a request, they won't. I doubt because it was requested by a leacher that it somehow doesn't benefit anyone else. I just don't see what the problem is with how it currently is.

I just think it would make it easier for the people who do contribute to get what they request. I see the problem if we made it 15 post required but the rep seems like it could work to me.

Just because you contribute doesn't mean you will get rep. Again it begs the issue of how you expect us to moderate this, just delete any posts we see requesting something if the member doesn't have enough rep? Then how do we go about dealing with all the threads that pop up begging for rep?

The people who will fullfill the requests have the option of choosing what they will fulfill and most of the time they will do it for the people they recognize. Other wise, they will fulfill what is easiest for them.

True but i mean i was giving ideas, I see you're point on how to moderate that and thats what it comes down to I think, how to enforce the rule.

i say dont let them enter the 'Media' part of the forum until they have 15 posts. that way they cant request nor they can get.

That causes spam. As it is, people need to register to download anything, forcing them to post would create a lot of spam.

I think it is fine just the way it is. It is true, if everyone needed at least 15 posts then there will be a lot of spam in the site. Really no point to it since people need to register to the site before downloading anything.

There's no point in making rules like this.

If you see that someone is requesting something and they have like... 3 posts, it's simple. Don't fill the request.

Or fill it anyway if it doesn't cause you too much hardship. Because other members would probably want to see it too.

It's not like we have people going page by page through the request threads fulfilling every request. When people want to help someone out, they'll post something. I know that even as staff I'm not going to post something if I don't want to, not matter whether they have 1 post or 500. People can request all they want in the request threads, I don't care, people check it sometimes. It's when they post outside of the request thread that I care.
