Idea to make better use of the IRC channel

Okay, So most of us know, The Shoutbox is Laaaaaaagggggyyyyyyyy. And we have the IRC channel, But I was wondering. maybe put a online client, like Mibbit or something and integrate it into the website?

I suggested this, but it was quickly turned down. I don't remember the exact reasons.

I don't think that Mibbit can be integrated into the website, but I think you can make direct links to specific rooms, which you could place in the SB announcements. There are, however, some Java chat clients that can be integrated into websites, though I don't know any off hand, nor have I liked any I've ever used.

Maybe it's because I'm too lazy to get on another site to talk.

I haven't been on in a long time either. It takes too much to open up a program that lets me get on it. I'm lazy.

Seb, the point is that you don't HAVE to go to another site to talk. Just use Pidgin, and you're automatically signed in. Or another client.

hm.. I think hackint0sh has mibbit as a "chat" link on the top of the page.

its even more of a pain if you have to identify yourself everytime you get on

why? pidgin kicks ass. only client I know of available for windows and linux w/ aim, yim, msn, facebook, irc, and text replace

I just dont like the look and feel of pidgin. Also, I have a far superior IRC client, and chat client IMO

7mb/s connection, which isnt too bad
