Forum Leadership & Suggestions

I was going to post this in the staff section, but I notice it is no longer available so feel free to move this to where ever you feel it belongs.

This is basically my plea asking that this forum be run differently than BWH. So that there can be more of a welcoming environment and more mature member base.

Just a few comments and suggestions.

1- Although many users will transfer from BWH please keep this separate from BWH. Don't carry over leadership positions and such just for the sake of having staff.

2- I believe this board should maintain a professional atmosphere. Naturally members should carry themselves appropriately as mature adults. Most members here will be between the ages of 16-28, unlike the members of BWH. Therefor I hope that the mods/staff her play a more laid back role than those of BWH. As member peers with extra responsibility and not forum dictators.

3- Please understand that Mods/Staff should not abuse power, play popularity games, or be set on a high petistal to look down upon current members similar to what happens on BWH.

4- Pick staff according to professionalisms, and section knowledge. Not just because they are friends.


Anyway thats about it. The reason I bring this up now is because now is the time where things are coming together and later on my suggestions will be out dated. As for the current Mods/Staff I am very happy to see you in your positions and know you will be very good. But these suggestions pertain to future staff that might come about.

Thanks for the suggestions, DUI. I really hope the staff I have chosen will be responsible, mature, and friendly. I really think they will be. And as for the BWH thing... I don't know what to say. Staying from BWH is a good idea, but how can we? I was basically born there

Ya, I was born there too. I don't think we'll have to worry about being too much like it, or making the same mistakes. It's a completely different forum, about something very different.

I am quite responsible, mature, and definitely friendly. I know that I am doing/will do a good job as staff, so you have nothing to worry about as long as I'm concerned.

Ya, you were able to view the staff board because the BWH group's permissions hadn't been changed, but I set it. BWH has it's own board now.

I don't know a single thing about BWH. But I do know all the Mods and Admins are doing a great job. They know what they are doing and they treat all the members equally... I was a moderator at GTA-Sanandreas.com(Now called GTA-Guides.) and when it first started it was a lot like this place. We didn't have more then 150 active members so mods and admins blended right in. Everyone was treated with respect and very rarely did anyone get banned. Then after the game came out the forum started to grow massively with 30,558 registered members to this day. Next thing we knew, new mods(Which most of us didn't know) were hired to help control the flood of Spam, Duplicate topics, Flaming and a bunch of new crap we didn't really have issues with before the game release... The only thing we could really do was operate under the rules that What we say goes, and if you don't agree, you get banned. It was almost like the forum was under Marshal Law 24/7. It really ruined the place and a lot of us left.. I guess what I'm saying is that I really don't want that to happen to this place. I wanna be here for a Long Time .

I, along with the other staff, will not let that happen.
This will grow, and will get more members, but it'll also always be a nice enjoyable atmosphere.

Though the rules will be required to be followed. There will be a certain amount of leniancy, we should probaly have a warning system. (Such as BWHacks infraction system.) But yeah.

Exactly my thoughts, thats why I brought it up before this place booms.
