Nurta, surely more than that. Obviously one sticky discussing how to set up the clients etc. We would have threads discussing new clients, hardware, etc. There would be threads with users that need assistance. The main idea here though is it allows the team to be seen. No one is coming into website suggestions to read about this.

Hardware: Um, who buys hardware specifically for this? We already have a public forum for hardware

So two threads, the sticky and the one idiot who can't figure out how to run it...

Being seen is a different story. That could be as simple as a sticky in say "technology" advertising for it and for discussion.

New clients doesn't make us a team anymore? No, every so often Stanford releases new folding@home software clients, for new hardware. Tons of people buy hardware specifically for this, just because you aren't involved in it doesn't mean others aren't. A sticky in technology may work, except that then I have to pick through technology threads to try to find people who need help with the folding stuff. Maybe a sub-forum in technology.

oh, I thought you meant clients as in like SETI@Home versus Fold@home.

I don't think this team will attract people to it that much. I mean, it's not going to get so popular that it takes up a whole lot of threads. Compare it to gamerz, there is a much smaller probability of someone getting into this as into that and even that isn't horribly active. Such things are so in between it doesn't need a forum.

And can someone confirm that I can have multiple computers count for me? I'm pretty sure that's how it was, but I don't remember.

spenc, yeah you can have multiple computers count for you. Set them both up to use your nickname, and with the Zune Boards team number and they will all count for points for you.

I'm pretty sure that your name won't show up until you have completed your first Work Unit (WU). My name isn't on there yet either.

@Hostile: Do you have more than one computer going? 11 work units in just a couple of days is crazy.

It does take some time.

I have had to shutdown my client until I can fix some heat issues with my computer. I have my 2GHZ Athlon X2 overclocked to 3GHZ, and the cooler cannot handle the CPU under full load. When I did the overclock, it was fine, but it was also about 15 degrees cooler in the room. I will start again probably this weekend when I can fix the problem.

Yeah he's right, until you complete a unit and the stats are updated you will not show up. Don't worry, you'll get on there =)

All those work units are from my one box. It's my graphics card folding with the GPU2 client. HIS Radeon HD3850 512mb =)

You should have told us about this. Do you have CPU and GPU clients, or just the one for the graphics card?

Edit: A quick googling tells me that GPU2 is ATI only. I guess that leaves me out. They should really work on an Nvidia compatible client.
