I will try to install a mod for the frontpage for those who want to switch back.

Also, if it's the bright colors that bother you guys, give me some suggestions, like lacrosse did.

As a web designer, I have to agree with everyone else that this one is a downgrade from what you have. The bubblegum environment takes away from what you had. I would advise going back to having the forums be seperate and not intergrated into the main system, as said before it's just wasted space. Go back to what you had, slim it down and perhaps change the colors would be my suggestion. I would go with perhaps the new firmwares color set, similar to what lacrosse suggestest, but darker.

I like the new look, but it is a bit bright..but I can see where you are going with this...matching the new marketplace look hmmm. I think it's cool you guys took the chance to redo the site, keep up the good work guys.

We can get someone to code it into a Joomla! and vBulletin design. Go for it guys.

I'd prefer white background for the news article area. It just makes it 200% easier to post.

i still use the original grey blue orange forum setup and enjoy it

the brighter colors if displayed on monitors use more power thats why sites like blackle.com exist to be more energy effecient i think we should go with grey or black backgrounds to make this site more green

On the home page:
I like it. Looks different enough. But still...
Overall (home page and forums):
Probably already been posted, but everything seems way to scrunched (bad word choice, I know). The entire left side of the page is... nothing. The focus of the page has completely shifted spots.

I understand this site is tryin' to update in honor of the release of the new firmware later on today (past 12:45 AM

), but this blue ain't cuttin' it. It reminds me of ~~~~iPods~~(THE HORROR!!!!!) and the AT&T ad sure isn't gonna help me forget either. Why wont the man just model this site off the new Zune Marketplace, it had a white background but pink and orange instead of all these blues.

I was actually thinking about doing that but since MS beat us to that there will be legal issues. So I am currently working on a way around that.

I think one of the biggest issues of all is the contrast. The whole page looks too bright. I mean, yes, it's readable and it works, but when there is more dark color it makes the site feel more inviting and makes you want to stay longer.
#003466 isn't a bad color for the background... if you want some specific ideas.
Foreground background if that makes sense would be nice in white with the usual black text for a professional look.

Of course... this would mean that the entire layout would have to be redone.
You could always use the layout i have for my Zune vs. iPod site too

Good contrast is a must in any web 2.0 page. The light blue doesn't pop off the background of white and makes the site look a little too flat.
