Aww man, I used to go out and play paintball all the time but I haven't been able to find time for it recently. With school and all, but maybe reading this thread will have me the motivation to go out again! haha. I have an old Spyder r8 or something, I'm not sure if that's the correct name at all.
I want to play paintball so bad, but its so expensive. Is it as awsome as everyone say it is.
It's only expensive if you go hardcore and begin buying your own equipment, then it can get real expensive (or not, just like any other hobby).
I haven't played in years, but when I did play I was just a "weekend warrior" and would get together with a bunch of guys and rent everything from the place where we played. Hokey smoke it was unbelieveable fun. The prices have gone up, but I bet you could get by with $30 to $60/person.
If, after playing, you get as hooked on it as I assume you will, then you can make the decision wheather or not to buy your own stuff and even then you can start small and upgrade as you can afford.

Airsoft is cheaper to initially buy into, cheaper to maintain, and cheaper ammo. Minus all the splotchy paint goodness, airsoft (in my opinion) is better in those areas. Plus, milsim can be cool.

tippys are good to start with but anyone who has an ION IS A N00B. Ions are the biggest poser guns on the market and the resale value is horrible. If any of you are tempted to buy an ion in any way shape or form dont do it!!!!
Meth0dical, nice set up with the ICD, i have the freestyle 7 with a halo b empire barrel kit, and a gorgeous 68/45 carbon fiber wrapped evil scion tank that i got for $100!
my promaster is stock, but its the lasoya model so i guess it doesnt need any ups. i actually prefer playing bushball with my tippmann, i only use the icd for scenario games where i play front.
i used to play semi pro speedball. my team and i got into the chicago psp in D3 and it was intense! it was our first d3 matchup and we got wasted in the second round. good expierience though, now i pwn my marine recruiters whenever we got out and play with our platoon

i have a lifetime membership at my local woodsball field so i dont pay walk-on or fill fees, i just have to pay for paint because they dont allow off-field paint. they also have 4 speedball fields which if they're not reserved for team practice, drop-in is free as well, but you have to buy field paint. only registered teams can bring off-field paint for their practices, so drop-in's have to pay for paint.
dude paintball is the **** it rocks dude but it cost alot of money when u can't us ur own paint at the courses last time i played it cost me 200 bucks for paint it sucked but i had alot of fun playin it
I've only gone paintballing once. Was fun until I got shot in the forehead. Then like 7min after getting shot in the forehead, I got shot in the one area a man doesn't want to get shot... good thing I was wearing a cup.
Want to go again but next time with more padding and maybe a mask.
i've never played painteball in my life. but i want to really bad. But the only thing is that i'm too much of a girl and i'm scared of getting big bruises. But i think i'd wanna try it just once. I remember this girl at school and she was addicted to it. But she used to show us these nasty bruises. owie.
i dunno. . . do you guys get hurt a lot? or am i just being a paranoid doofus? :]
Heck yeah man, Ive got a modded Tippman A-5 supported with a dagger vest. I do agree, mainly because I am military, that milsim is where it is at. Hence my love for woodsball.
