im an experienced giutarist with 7+ years of experience in playing fixing and buying guitars/effects/amps.
anyway, enough tooting my own horn. i found an old keyboard in the basement (a casio CTK-451 if it makes a difference) and i was fooling around with it today. finding the beats to still dre and 9 milli bros and some other rap.
then it hit me. i could play this if there were tabs!
so anybody out there, does piano have tablature? an easy way of writing things down into a song, as opposed to notes, some sort of number/symbol notation? if so, what is it called and whats a good site to find it at?
thanks, + rep for good help

learning to play by tabs is going to cripple you artistically.
It's like watching your fingers when you type. You should learn to read sheet music and practice playing from sheet music as much as you have with tabs, and you'll be a better musician for it.
Tabs are good for a few things though, you can... well... what are they good for? oh yeah... they're a good crutch.
it's especially bad with the tabs system in that link. You can play any song starting from any key on the piano, the song will only have a different "key signature." The important part is the number of steps between the notes. the difference between the first note and the second. an example would be "mary had a little lamb." You can start on anywhere on the piano. the second note will have to be one whole step below the first. You can play mary had a little lamb with only the white keys, or only the black keys depending on which key you start on, you can even play it with both black and white keys.
my point is that if you go off of these tabs, you'll have trouble understanding the music theory and understanding how key signatures work.

It is a lot easier o play with sheet music not tabs on Piano. Guitar ehh either works fine and i can play many a song and even still make my own music through tabs.

so the music theory is a lot different than that of guitar?
then my next question would be, whats a source YOU use for piano sheet music (online and free, hopefully)

Music theory is the same with most instrument you use (unless it's something different like instruments from the middle east, they use a different system).
You should learn to use sheet music, even if you are a guitarist. I'm a guitarist, and I'm trying to read sheet music faster. Maybe it's cause I also play classical and jazz guitar, and there won't be many tabs for those.
ya thats what i thought Master. i play banjo to, its pretty much the same.
anyone good site they use for piano sheet music?
