I'm excited too although this year I'll have to suffer through all the "OMG China is so bad!!" nonsense. I'm also hoping for at least decent coverage of some of the more obscure events like shooting.
Quite Frankly, I don't care much for them. But I did see a story on the front page of Yahoo! that some Chinese man stabbed the in-laws of one of the Olympians. Is that enough coverage of the obscure events? lol

I've never really liked the Olympics or any sports for that matter on TV. This year its a little different though, I have been watching at work and I must say that I enjoy it.
I love the olympics, both winter and summer. I usually spend all my time watching them because it's the best of the best and it's a chance for the world to be in somewhat harmony at the same place and time to celebrate the best of all of us.

You don't really buy all that crap about the world coming together and all that stuff, do you? The Olympics are about money and politics and for 99% of the athletes, the one time in four years anybody will ever care about them.

Yes, actually I do believe in it. It is an opportunity to discuss politics and money for our leaders, but thats not what the event is for, and not why people train for years to get to it, and not about war or money or anything other then of course china spending a trillion billion on the opening this year.
i think there should be x games and olympics, but have all the xgames stuff in the olympics, if that makes sense. cos theres xgames every year, but not olympics, so the pros got something every year
