I run cross country, and I really like it.
I want to hear opinions of people about, whether you run or not. ![]() |

Don't care how much flame I'll get for this but it's true: Cross country is the ballsiest sport out there. I did cross country and long distance track for 4 years, and all these runners I met had the most guts Id seen in anyone in my life.

My history teacher was the coach for our school's team. He kept presuring me into joining, and eventually gave up
Might join it, not this coming year but next

I believe that you cannot say that one sport is better or harder than another. Because they are all so diverse and require different training and attitudes, you cannot compare one to another in terms of difficulty. ![]() |

i dont believe in running for competition. only for training because running is cool in all but its kind of lame. it just tests how much you run on your own time and it takes no knowledge at all u just run.

Meh, I don't like the idea of running races(being you have to wear short shorts and it pretty much kills you), but I like the sport. I play soccer, which is the same season as XC, so I simply participate in their summer workouts(monday-friday 7:00 in the morning) where everyone carpools down to trails and we run like 3-6 miles depending on the day. It's one of the highlights to my summer, and getting to run pretty much daily makes my days seem way longer.

I hope that was your opinion and you weren't thinking that what you just said is fact. The truth is, you would be surprised at how much strategy goes into racing. Also, by the way you stated this "it just tests how much you run on your own time" sounds like you think running is just that; running a lot. But in fact, that is one of the most idiotic strategies (the only exception I can think of is marathon running) because of increase in chance of injury, decrease in potential, and if workout strategies are horrible enough then it wouldn't get a person faster. There is much knowledge that is needed for running, and that is the opposite of one of the most common perceptions of running from people who don't run. ![]() |

What I WILL say is that long distance runners have an incredibly strong work ethic and portray the most guts on the field than most other players of different sports. It's a sport where you have to give it your all each race and take as much pain as humanly possible to be at an elite level. Every time. ![]() |

And to answer the question, no I don't run. D: I used to do karate, and we had to run for a while each class to train, but I don't take classes anymore. I don't mind running, but it's definitely not my favorite hobby.

I run Cross Country. It's a pain in the ass, but the finish is always nice. I did okay last year, my bet 5k was around 20 minutes I think. This year I'm looking to get 19 something, which shouldn't be too hard.
